Yeah, what's that like?
Big and fast, loud and raucous, cautious and complex, learny, smeary, weird, hip. Babies born now spanning to any of the rest of us that survive.
I'm sure it will reflect the strange heart and soul of the world, because that's what it does now.

Yes, I'm being positive. Let us say we turn the corner, figure stuff out, learn the lessons, pull back from the edge.
It could be good. It could be better, for everyone and everything. An awakening.
Maybe the worst problem we'll have is the 2032 primaries.
Make it so.

Why is that?

(10,745 posts)No more climate doomers spilling their pseudo-scientific woo or poorly-thought out misinterpretations of actual climate science en masse.....but instead, logical and reasonable discussion amongst each other, optimists, pessimists, and in the middle alike. Literal "white privilege" nuttiness now passe amongst the fringe left & confused wannabes passing into the anals of a bygone era where activist liberals were still arbitrarily divided unnecessarily, replaced with reasoned and respectful discussion of ethnic/nationality issues both past and present. No more of this approval of Snowden and other hypocritical doucherockets just because they gave the *appearance* of bucking the system, even though they didn't in reality(and seeing thru such people for who they are for that matter.). And perhaps many of today's remaining Obama detractors might be able to change their minds and get to appreciate how much of a man he really was.....he is basically the Abe Lincoln of the 21st century.
But more than that, I hope that we can stay united and stay together as a community, from the mainstream to the quirky.....yes, everyone. And frankly, I think we can; if DU could survive the Bush years we can survive in the future, too.

I think this website will be sold off by 2018 but Pat Robertson will finally kick the bucket in 2030 so there is some good news.

Liberal and Progressive thoughts and discussions will be banned in public only corporate approved speech will be allowed.
It is unknown who the New CEO of the USA will be, it will depend on what corporation(s) will be in power, Energy or Wall Street are the likely contenders.
On the upside, the New Rollerball league will startup as will initial production of Soylent Green which will become the food of the 99%.
Of course WE could change all that but that would take going after the corporations and voting out of office those who support and protect corporations unless of course that would not be pragmatic.

(25,699 posts)Except we'll only be able to access the right-wing war-hawk screeches of Nu-DU by providing an organic sample and PID / PIN to the gate controllers, who will charge our account per letter typed, all of which will be archived and printed to us with the bill (which for some inexlicable reason will still be on paper.)
DU will insist that this is only right because a democrat happens to be in charge in 2030, how dare you criticize when Edward Snowden is still eating Panda express at the Moscow Airport?!
