Ever wonder who does the filming of those airline commercials?
Check out this story and video of "Wolfe Air"

Here's another vid from their YouTube channel;
Found the following in my inbox - What happens when you give a bunch of Navy fighter pilots GoPro cameras?
They make a really cool video with a kickass soundtrack!

The Lear couldn't have been more than 100' or so off the nose of the airliner.

(30,947 posts)I have flown small single-engine planes and even did some skydiving. But when I saw the Blue Angels perform, I just wished I could be a passenger in one of those planes even though I could not pilot one.

(23,926 posts)Before I was born Dad flew F-4F Hellcats in WWII (and was awarded a DFC for "conspicuous gallantry in aerial combat" . During the Korean War he flew the F-9F Panther. In peacetime he served a pre-Korea stint at Pax River as a test pilot (at the same time Al Shepard was there), and post-Korea he commanded a fighter squadron of F-J3 Furies. In the early '70s , he skippered an attack carrier on Yankee Station in the Tonkin Gulf. (Interestingly enough, I was passing time in the A Shau Valley at the same time he had his carrier. My Mom swears that she never slept more than 15 minutes at a stretch for that entire time.)
More than once Dad told me that carrier aviation was the most fun a man could have with his clothes on, and that a night trap was where they separated the pilots from the pud-knockers.
Thanks for sharing this!

(24,365 posts)and flying a fighter must be, as you said, the most fun you can have with your clothes on.
There is a great documentary (several over the years, actually) on Aircraft Carriers called appropriately enough, "Carrier" that follows a deployment of the Nimitz from San Diego to the Gulf and back. They cross the Indian ocean on the way back and head toward Perth for a Port Call. Along the way the ship encounters heavy seas so the captain decides it's time for Pitching Deck quals!
Here's the video;
Definitely no pud-knockers!
