Fiesta has been ongoing for the past few weeks here in San Antonio, and tomorrow is the last day. It's nothing but a huge party, a cultural celebration, an excuse to drink and eat and have fun - for weeks! Here's some pics of this year's festivities. Enjoy!

(35,015 posts)There's a lot of diversity in BLUE San Antonio, plus, we have a fantastic mayor. Did you spot him?

Austin also is pretty blue. Of the Texas cities I've visited, that's where I spent the most time.
But I also remember a VFW post on the river in San Antonio--one that was constantly fighting off developers who want the property. I hope they're still there. I was a guest there one year after attending the city's Veterans' Day Parade.

(35,015 posts)There has been a lot of development along the river; the Pearl Brewery is shops and restaurants now and the riverwalk extends up to that point. It's quite nice, but things do get 'plowed over' to make way for the new.
Speaking of - I spent a lot of time in Austin in the 90s; my favorite music venue, the Liberty Lunch, was torn down for condominiums.
