Tim Russert wasnt that great either.

Way better than the current tool but he was still a hack.

I think at least five people replaced him right after he passed.

Probably had something to do with his early passing, too.

A main newsmaking guest, say Senator JFK, would face a panel of journalists of different political leanings, all of whom would be asking the newsmaker questions.

It devolved into a segment of "Meet winger Tim Russert," followed by a segment of panel discussion, at which the newsmaker du jour would not even be present. Nothing like original Meet the Press. But, obviously, they kept the name so they could claim to be the oldest show.

It became MTPINO. Meet the Press In Name Only.
