Question about the Don Sterling thing

I don't follow every media outlet, but amid all of the commentary on this man's interesting racial opinions, has there been a word about the perhaps more immediate sexist context in which these comments were made?

Maybe I don't know the whole backstory, but this guy's treatment of women seems more directly abusive than any effect his attitudes may have had on his employees.

On edit: and no, I am not inviting nor making a "what's worse" comparison. I'm merely surprised that the well-roundedness of his odious character is being lost in the emphasis on one strand of it.

He was demanding who she associates with. He even told her 'who' she can have sex with. His wife, she knows he has mistresses. But, they all seem to not mind it cause he has money. Not giving him a free pass but yucch .

His remarks (the ones I have seen) were directed at one whole group of people en masse and his comments/actions of a sexist nature were focused more on one or two people.

His hitherto not well concealed attitudes towards others where directed a whole group of people, although his posture toward whom he tolerates having sex with his mistress is considerably more broadminded than, I would suppose, many people here would be under similar circumstances.

I haven't quite decoded what "wife", "estranged wife", "girlfriend" and "mistress" are meant to convey in the various reports I have seen about his personal relationships, such as they are.

But proceeding on the original "girlfriend" characterization, what sort of racist doesn't care who his "girlfriend" is screwing?

Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling told his girlfriend that he doesn't want her to bring black people to his games or post pictures with black people on Instagram, according to unverified audio obtained by TMZ.

If his comments had been 'women' as a group than I would see the sexism in it (same as if he said jews/men/etc would be directing comments at a whole group).

I haven't seen all his comments so perhaps I missed the ones relating to all women vs his actions towards a few women (his girlfriend/wife/etc).

What's worse is that none of this was a secret. It's odd that this tape is making people act like they just found out what a jackass he is. People who had any idea who he was prior to this knew EXACTLY what he was like. It's been documented nine ways from Sunday.

Some of the background on this guys long history of being a waste of DNA can be found here. http://www.sbnation.com/2014/4/28/5660150/donald-sterling-la-clippers-racist-comments-tmz-adam-silver and here http://www.vox.com/cards/donald-sterling/what-other-awful-things-has-sterling-done-in-the-past .

There are few versions of Hell like the one where you check into a hotel and find out they are having a convention there.

But I guess it is some variation on "All Dogs Go To Heaven"

Sterling regularly places full page ads in the LA Times about speaking engagements and awards he has arranged for himself, and various real estate projects. The real estate ads generally have one or more young women in scanty attire. You are right, he is shallow all the way down.
