Sean Hannity would also like to "baptize terrorists" with waterboarding.
The Fox News and conservative radio show host on Monday defended former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's (R) comment over the weekend that "waterboarding is how we baptize terrorists."
"Well what do you want to do with terrorists?" Hannity asked on his radio show before diving into a hypothetical in which someone kidnaps three kids. In his comparison, the authorities detain one of the kidnappers, but the kids are still missing.
"Let's see. Would you want to baptize by water boarding the guy who took your three children? I think would. As a matter of fact, it wouldn't really be much of a question. I think I'd baptize them again and again and again until I found out where my kids are," he said.

(36,988 posts)1834 days Since He Promised To Undergo Waterboarding For Charity
It has been nearly five years since Sean Hannity promised to undergo waterboarding - or, as he called it, "dunking" - for charity in order to prove that it's not torture. So is Hannity's failure to make good on his promise proof that he knows that waterboarding really is torture? Or do promises only matter to Hannity when Democrats make them? I report, you decide!
Below is a video (from our friends at Crooks and Liars) showing Hannitys promise to undergo waterboarding - plus Keith Olbermanns offer to add $1,000 to charity for every second Hannity tolerates the process - on April 22, 2009.

(27,101 posts)And, your hypothetical is ridiculous.
Terrorism is not kidnapping, although kidnapping can be part of terrorism.
And, exactly when are the parents of kidnapped children allowed to question suspects?
I wonder what color the sky is in Hannity's world?

(35,047 posts)Those the two things I've always noticed about people who justify torture, these two things scratch my brain in annoyance because I know they are wrong, but I can't say HOW they are wrong or any particular cognitive biases/distortions asssociated with them:
Omniscience minus one:
It's a given that someone took your children or has a ticking time bomb
It's a given that you have this someone in custody
It's a given that if tortured this person will reveal the truth, like torture is some some of Ouija board
It's like you know everything except for the location of your children or the ticking time bomb
Always someone else:
There's always some guy in custody, but it's never a friend, a family member, or them. I once talked to a person who was doing the whole ticking time bomb scenario and how torture was justified. I asked "What happens when the police bust in your door in the middle of the night, say 'Hey, there's our supsect, we better get him and waterboard the truth out of him!'?", I got a blank stare for about a minute, and then told to shut up.
Has anyone seen these things, noticed them, or have any official names for these behaviors? They just really annoy me.
