Well he was wrong. And neither did his "male privilege", his "hetersexual privilege", his "cis privilege", or even his socioeconomic privilege.
I applaud the NBA commissioner for sending the message that even casual racism is completely and utterly unacceptable and inexcusable today. It's interesting to speculate on what his punishment (if any) would have been 10, 20, or 50 years ago.

it took him saying those things for people to do something. and even then there are people who defend him and say it wasn't that bad and blaming the girlfriend for it.
and 2.5 million is nothing to him.
