And this is why we cant have nice things.

Right here

When we here about great social programs, free university, free healthcare, etc. etc. this is why. If the bad men come, Uncle Sugar will be there to take care of business. This is why (right or wrong) our defense spending is out of control Its not just the Philippines, Japan, South Korea, all of Europe, I'm pretty sure we have an agreement with the penguins in Antarctica as well.

2. We do military spending for lots of folks. For the rest, we're "the world's policeman."

For the lighter side of losing wars to the US, Netflix The Mouse That Roared, preferably before the anti-net neutrality FCC rules are in place.

starting with healthcare, THAT could have bought.

To say nothing about top-shelf talent wasted.

Where we could have been. Where we are.

Seems just because a direction is BLINDINGLY OBVIOUS, doesn't prevent it from being missed by folks with enough money and power.

The though of him riding penguins or taking care of a baby penguin shirtless make me wake up in cold sweats.

As a side note I transported a few of our Navy Dolphins back in the late 90's. Wasn't allowed to talk about it for the longest time.

9. I think I'll stick with the penguins after reading how the dolphins “deserted” to look for mates

Cool assignment transporting dolphins, btw. They probably couldn't talk about it either.

It was interesting to say the least. It was about an hour and a half flight to Damn Neck, VA. and we weren't allowed to go near the dolphins or their trainers.

But as with most things Marines aren't supposed to do..well we had a pretty interesting conversation with the trainers/divers. The dolphins had better chow and living quarters than we did.
