BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — The Montana Supreme Court has overturned a one-month prison sentence given to a former high school teacher convicted of raping a 14-year-old student.

Wednesday's decision cited in part the actions of District Judge G. Todd Baugh (baw) of Billings, who suggested the young victim shared responsibility for her rape because she had some control over the situation.

Justices said a new judge must re-sentence defendant Stacey Dean Rambold.

Rambold has been free since completing his sentence last fall. Prosecutors for the state say he should serve a mandatory minimum of four years prison.

Rambold's attorneys had argued that the original sentence was appropriate.

And yes, I hope he'll be sentenced to the full four years and registered as a pedophile for the rest of his life.

and most don't survive it anyway. They are targeted for the kill by their fellow inmates.

The link broke for me and I thought that it was overturned to a more substantial punishment.

So before you go gleefully jumping down people's throats maybe you should apply Occam's razor and think what is more likely..

a) A misunderstanding in the tiny amount of information initially provided

or

b) A pro-pedophile apologist proudly proclaiming to the world in a place that would promptly remove him from that group

Get off your high horse and think...

Edit: Gosh, it does look like he is likely getting resentenced to a more substantial prison term. Golly gee.. Whodathunkit....

YOU assumed the poster was cheering for a rapist. Only YOU. I didn't, because that would be completely ridiculous. Near as I can tell no one else did either. You got it wrong. Completely backwards in fact.

That's cool. Mistakes get made all the time. What defines us is the grace with which we handle those mistakes. For some reason you have decided that you would refuse to take ownership of your error and instead up the ante by blaming the poster you originally falsely accused of SUPPORTING A RAPIST, which is about as egregious an accusation as is possible to make. It's disgraceful.

I apologize it hasn't been more pleasant thus far. Most of us are a bit friendlier and a wee bit less likely to jump to absurd conclusions, so I do hope you aren't put off too much by this episode.

The rapist will be resentenced, almost definitely for a more appropriate, longer sentence.

But in the end, they were cheering something that *is* a good thing. That one month sentence was disgusting and deserved to be overturned, and a far more appropriate, much longer one handed down. With that, I'm out.
