A thought I had listening to the Diane Rehm show discussion of the eroding middle class, etc -

they had on their usual cast of pundits, some right and some left, blaming this one and that one. The Dems fault, the Republicans fault, Obamacare's fault.....ad nauseum. But as usual, they missed the root cause.

Greed and Power (or either one) corrupts. We've lost our way as a species because of it - we have churches, and politicians, and organizations - but it appears to be a great fault of people that once they have too much of something, they just want more. Just another incredibly destructive addiction - wealth and power.

Which leaves the vast majority of people totally screwed, no matter who is in charge or where they live.

I can't see anything improving a whole lot until there is an overall culture change - true caring, true empathy, true leveling of the playing field so that vast swaths don't get left out while tiny percentages have most of it all.
