This morning - Unemployment down to 6.3%. This Afternoon - Issa screams BENGHAZI!!!
Seriously, if you didn't think this was coming you were living under a rock.
As you know this morning the job numbers were released and unemployment is down to 6.3%. Pretty damn good knowing that the GOP blocks anything and everything the Dems try to pass to help out with job numbers.
Sure enough this afternoon I see this on the homepage of Huffington Post.

WASHINGTON -- Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) on Friday subpoenaed Secretary of State John Kerry to testify on the 2012 attack on the American diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya.
Issa, who chairs the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, tweeted that he has summoned Kerry to testify on May 21, when the committee holds a public hearing on the matter. He also accused the State Department of showing "a disturbing disregard for its legal obligations to Congress" when it comes to producing documents on the matter.
A State Department official who spoke on condition of anonymity said that Kerry is scheduled to be in Mexico on May 21, adding that is something Issa's committee "would have known if they had reached out to us instead of issuing a subpoena by tweet."
The official said it's unclear if Kerry "is even aware of the request" and said the department is "surprised" by Issa's subpoena, given State officials have been "cooperating all along with the committee."
Seriously?
Issa you are not only a car theft but you are an ASSCLOWN. This is so predictable. Kerry wasn't even SoS when Benghazi happened but I guess he's running out of people to subpoena and he had to do something to trump the news this morning that unemployment was down to 6.3%

(111,124 posts)Kerry had nothing to do with Benghazi, nothing to do with the State Department at the time. Just what the hell is Issa trying to do except throw his bantam weight around?
I hope California is able to summon the votes to rid the country of this asshole in November. He's making the whole state look stupid.

(24,780 posts)Why he's even there. He was a US Senator at the time and wasn't in the situation room. Help them make fools of themselves.
On another note, my first thought on all this was since the wingers are coming up with nothing on the ACA (Rick Scott's and other disastrous fishing expeditions) and even finding people overwhelmingly like it, they are realizing the ACA isn't the winner they thought it would be in November. I was pretty convinced of it today as of about noon as there had not been one single peep about how horrible the ACA is today. We know how well coordinated they are so this whole Benghazi thing, I think, was already planned. The job numbers were coincidental.

The top Democrat on the Oversight Committee, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), slammed Issa's move as a continuation of an increasingly partisan pattern of behavior.
These actions are not a responsible approach to congressional oversight, they continue a trend of generating unnecessary conflict for the sake of publicity, and they are shockingly disrespectful to the Secretary of State, Cummings said in a statement later Friday.
He also noted that Issa opposed subpoenaing then-Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in 2007 in the years-long investigation of phony Iraq War evidence, during which Issa then decried "the inappropriateness of hauling the secretary of state
out of the performance of her job.
Currently, Kerry is dealing with crises in Ukraine, Syria, Israel, South Sudan, North Korea and other spots around the globe, while Issa is hoping to learn more about why a committee subpoena didn't turn up an email about post-Benghazi talking points.

(5,756 posts)I looked at the CBS, CNN, ABC, and NBC sites and in the best of cases for the GOP the Kerry Subpoenaed story is on their left-menu and not the top story. Not a story in the middle of their main page unless it was what one could call on the internet "below the fold." Otherwise known as a place below the first set of pixels that appear when you go to a site and more devastating than below the fold in print since people actually have to open the paper and might get intrigued by a headline down there. EDIT: Not so on the web. One can click the headlines or click away without ever seeing below the fold on the web.
I didn't go to the FOX site for obvious reasons.
I hope they keep this up through this election year. I'm pretty sure reasonable people have long been experiencing Benghazi fatigue. Now, we have to GOTV!

(65,616 posts)When did these Repuke scumbags write themselves into laws that make them immune from prosecution? Issa should NEVER be serving in a position of trust, he proved over and over again that he will commit crimes if left unchecked.

(128 posts)All that Bush did regarding the Iraq war, he never received the disrespect that they are subjecting President Obama. It's really disgusting and is embarrassing. I just hope everyone votes this year to get rid of these republicans. I have no hope for my state, South Carolina but hopefully the Democrats keep the senate and take back the house.
