****WCGreen Update -- Friday, May 2, 2014****

From his wife:

Chris is more like himself every day. His dexterity is not good enough for texting or typing. He can read though, so texts would be great, as well as emails. Of course, cards are always welcome. Today was a very busy day for him. He had a Bronchoscopy, as well as other things. He has been going to move, and going to move, but he gotten fevers and that is a red flag for transplant patients. They want to make sure there is a plan in place and he is well enough to travel, although it is right up Fairhill, just a couple minutes away. The place sounds great - if you are ready to leave the hospital and not ready to go home - go there. They even have a Physical Therapy gym. Hopefully that will motivate him. Unfortunately, music therapy has motivated him the most, and they may not have it there.
He has his guitar, computer, and phone. He is totally set up. He is frequently so tired, though.

Thank you all for all of your support. I really know this has been a very long haul -

this is not uncommon though, the length. And after they send him home, he will have crummy days as well

but I always search for these messages.

Hang in there WCGreen. It sounds like you are making it through all the long, tedious recovery landmarks. I am so pleased to read how you are doing. Keep resting as much as you need and working as hard as you can and even though it really IS a long time for you on the working end and for us on the waiting end you will be back in no time.

You have been in my thoughts and will remain there. Sending healing vibes and thoughts of peace and comfort.

Lyrics:

Wearing the Inside Out

From morning to night I stayed out of sight
Didn't recognize I'd become
No more than alive I'd barely survive
In a word... overrun

Won't hear a sound (He's curled into the corner)
From my mouth (But still the screen is flickering)
I've spent too long (With an endless stream of garbage to)
On the inside out (...curse the place)
My skin is cold (In a sea of random images)
To the human touch (The self-destructing animal)
This bleeding heart's (Waiting for the waves to break)
Not beating much

I murmured a vow of silence and now
I don't even hear when I think aloud
Extinguished by light I turn on the night
Wear its darkness with an empty smile

I'm creeping back to life
My nervous system all awry
I'm wearing the inside out

Look at him now
He's paler somehow
But he's coming round
He's starting to choke
It's been so long since he spoke
Well he can have the words right from my mouth

And with these words I can see
Clear through the clouds that covered me
Just give it time then speak my name
Now we can hear ourselves again

I'm holding out (He's standing on the threshold)
For the day (Caught in fiery anger)
When all the clouds (And hurled into the furnace he'll)
Have blown away (...curse the place)
I'm with you now (He's torn in all directions)
Can speak your name (And still the screen is flickering)
Now we can hear (Waiting for the flames to break)
Ourselves again.
