3 San Jose State Students Expelled Over Bullying of Black Roommate

San Jose State University administrators have expelled three of the four students accused of bullying their black roommate, Judge LaDoris Cordell said.

The Mercury News reports the students expelled by the university are Logan Beaschler, Colin Warren and a juvenile. The university found that they violated school rules and put the victim's safety in jeopardy.

The fourth student, Joseph Bomgardner, was suspended for one year. He also faces other sanctions and must take five counseling sessions.

All four white students are accused of putting a u-shaped bike lock around their roommate's neck and taunting him because of the color of his skin.

got what they deserved. How can people be so cruel? Read Howard Zinn's history of this country. We are, as a nation. steeped in violence and cruelty against each other both racially and in class oriented ways. I'm not surprised that hate, bigotry and racism WILL NOT go away. Humans are very tough on each other regardless of race, ethnicity or national origin. Just my take.

Led by Shirley Weber Ph.D. (D-79). She actually had hearings here in San Diego.

Right now the committee she leads is dealing with the increasingly nasty environment in campuses, both Cal State and UC, as well as state junior colleges. San Jose just made more noise.

Colleges and Universities have to learn it's time to call the cops when a crime is committed - and I mean the real police, not the University police! Sooner or later, some school is going to be accused of a major cover-up.
