Donald Sterling is not a racist, V. Stiviano says
When Walters asks Stiviano if Sterling is a racist, she replies: "No, I don't believe it in my heart," according to 20/20.
She noted that Sterling, 50 years her senior, is of a different generation. She didn't take his comments about blacks as being bigoted, according to 20/20.

Stiviano said she served as Sterling's "protector" and loved him "like a father."
(Updated at 7:45 p.m., May 2: Stiviano also told Walters that there are hours of recordings with Sterling that have not been made public.)

I was going to put in some words of advice based on a list compiled to help you know when you're a racist, but some of the things actually happened to me and it was just too painful.
So, all I can say to Stiviano is that racism looks pretty much the same today as it did fifty years ago. And if you listen to what Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has to say about Sterling, evidence of racism from Sterling was apparent over the last thirty years, so why did it take private taped conversations to finally become the tipping point?
