Had A Funny Thought - Usually Repubs Blame Women In Cases Of Adultry & Rape.....

They say it's the woman's fault or make the woman look like a temptress and that's why it happened.

But in the case of Monica Lewinsky - they are putting the blame on Bill Clinton - where it should be - because it lends itself to what they want to accomplish in this case. Make the Clinton's look bad - make Hillary look bad because she forgave him and worked through it.

Look at all the male Repubs that have been involved in sex scandals. They always seem to come out of it without much consequences. I'm thinking Vitter who is still a Senator. And how about the Governor that went hiking in the Appalachians - I forget his name. Wasn't he just elected for some office. I'm sure there are other examples as well.

Yet - Monica Lewinsky is being revisited - because Hillary is such a threat for 2016 and the Repubs want to take her numbers down.

Are about as auspicious a way of starting a sentence as "Let me tell you what I know about the Negro..."

Common expression, often followed by "You mean funny 'ha ha' or funny strange?"

of this whole sordid affair.

Her problems with Bill should have remained between them, especially since the Monica experience was consensual, even if immoral and certainly inappropriate in all respects. Monica was, after all a consenting adult who, if anything, deliberately provoked their encounters (snapping her thong strap, etc.) rather than being harassed by Bill - although I certainly do NOT give him a free pass at all. He deserves a major kick in the cojones, at the very least for sheer stupidity. But Monica was also a victim for being threatened with imprisonment if she did not tell all to a bunch of lascivious Republican oglers, dying to "get" Clinton for doing something that Newt Gingrich was himself actually doing at the time while his own wife was in the hospital with cancer .... Wow!

If Monica hadn't had the extremely bad judgment to blab all to Linda Tripp (the confidante from Hell) - an absolutely horrible example of a woman who secretly recorded their telephone conversations - this particular GOP stunt would have gone nowhere.

The whole affair is still one instance where the US remains a global laughingstock. But abroad at least, it has brought Hillary nothing but sympathy and respect for her grace under pressure. I would warrant that is also the case in the US, more than GOpers could imagine.

I say, bring it on, GOP! If anything, Hillary looks good in comparison to EVERYONE else. The fact that she was able to rise above this great GOP witch-hunt and make a highly successful career for herself - with or without Bill - does nothing but reinforce the fact that women can - and should - rise above, even in spite of, victimization by men.

IMO, she could only gain supporters. So. Bring. It. On.

Which has become astoundingly clear.

Bring. It. On.

They've misjudged everything else so far. This will ultimately blow up in their faces. And I, for one, will love it.

Please proceed, GOP.
