Pat Robertson today responded to a new study on climate changes damaging impact on the U.S. by warning that efforts to combat climate change will destroy America.
On todays edition of the 700 Club, Robertson said actions to curb human-influenced climate change are part of an anti-American socialist agenda, saying it all goes back to the playbook of Obamas mentor.
Fighting climate change is high on the agenda of the radicals who want to destroy America, it isnt high on the agenda of those who really care about what goes on in life, he said.

Not exactly a new flash that the far-right fundamentalists view any attempt to deal with climate change as socialism. The republican primaries in 2016 should be interesting for any number of tea party-related reasons but how far they can drive their candidates to oppose any action on climate change will be one thing to watch.

(34,845 posts)Whatever happened to the American can-do spirit? Americans get things done! We rise to every challenge!
Or we can just sit around and complain like Pat Robertson.

(19,964 posts)... fundies like Robertson and his ilk think God would be offended by the mere discussion of climate change? If he believes that we were put here as guardians of (his) God's creation, why would he not embrace the opportunity to enlist people who would take on environmentalism as a worthy and just cause? Does he really think his God prefers followers who crap in their own nest? I'm just not following the logic of their outrage and denial.
