Some thoughts on watching"Lincoln" on Dish 319 right now:

I saw it first in a theater.
Terrific movie.

Back then, the repugs seemed to be the more 'liberal' party.
Lincoln issued The Emancipation Proclamation and the 13th amendment was passed, albeit with a lot of money changing hands between lobbyists and congressmen.
Some things never change.

Now, the repugs are fighting tooth and nail to keep as many minorities as possible from voting.
Funny how some things do change.

The GOP has changed. The KKK and Dixiecrats are now with the GOP so their membership has changed. The TP has taken the GOP to a very far right side and is not stable. I just cannot bring myself to even consider becoming a Republican. Their platform has too many ideas in which I am opposed. I don't like interference in my bedroom or in making decisions about my personal body. I don't like religions dictating what I should believe. I don't like gun nuts running around with weapons they have not been trained when it is appropriate to use the weapons. I don't like the wars to go on and on.
