Out of the mouths of babes!!

This is the best and possibly most meaningful response to "the kiss" that I have come across.

"When Markman’s wife explained to their 7-year-old son that dad was busy working on something that was controversial, Sam’s kiss on TV, the boy replied: ‘‘Is it because they’re not married?’’"

We had a gay couple and one had children I went to school with.. One weekend, a "party" was supposedly their "wedding" (which at that time was ceremonial only).

Anyway, I was more upset that they were living in sin together without being married, than they being 2 women. It kind of made the adults in the house realize their tsk, tsk was so different than my concern.

Being a part of the disability community, I have learned that children can be respectfully curious because they are not operating with the stereotypes, conventional "wisdom," and assumptions.
Then, as an overcorrection for the freak show days, parents tell them not to look or ask questions.

I find it astonishing that people would rather judge and impose their beliefs rather than appreciate the joy of a young man whose dreams are coming true.
