TOM KLUDT MAY 13, 2014, 9:48 AM EDT
Karl Rove tried his best on Tuesday to explain his recent suggestion that Hillary Clinton may have suffered a "traumatic brain injury."
Appearing on the friendly confines of Fox News, Rove wanted to make two things clear: He never said the former secretary of state had brain damage, but he really wants people to consider her age and health issues stemming from her hospitalization in late-2012.
"I didn't say she had brain damage. She had a serious health episode and my point was that from, I think it was the 7th of December in 2012 through the 7th of January of 2013, she underwent, first she had apparently a serious virus," he told anchor Bill Hemmer.
"They announced then on the 15th of December that she had at some period in the past week fallen. They didn't say when, they didn't say where. She was recovering at home. On the 30th of December she goes in and turns out to have had a blood clot. They won't say where. The next day they say that it is between her skull and her brain behind her right ear. She's in the hospital for four days. She goes home, is back in the office on the 7th and testifies on the 25th wearing special glasses that allow her to deal with the double vision that this episode caused."

(14,449 posts)I cannot believe how horrible these Republicans are. They had zero problem with a 68 year old in 1980 running for President....A man in 1980 did not even live as long as today. And then at 73, no problem and in fact won with 49 states. Hypocrites.

(2,091 posts)I don't ever remember the rethugs having a problem with his advanced age.

(37,153 posts)Dole was 73 when the Republicans ran him in 1996.
McCain was 72 in 2008.
They didn't shy away from running then-69-year-old Reagan in 1980, either.
So according to Republican (by their actions, not their words), there's no problem with Hillary's age.

(3,818 posts)He was 65 when he ran in 2012. If he runs again, he and Hillary would be the same age, except HC is five months younger.

(6,719 posts)I was scrolling down to add 'your age and your weight' and found your post. Congratulations! He really is jowly. And he suffers from a lack of connection between his mouth and his so called brain.

(4,524 posts)To the untrained eye, he looks like the standard-fare GOP idiot who can't even put coherent sentences together, much less do anything.
Why is Karl Rove thought of as remotely intelligent? He's a fool.

Thirty days in the hospital? And when she reappears, shes wearing glasses that are only for people who have traumatic brain injury?" Rove told the audience, as quoted by the Post. "We need to know whats up with that.

(44,571 posts)And remember how forthcoming you were about this?
And this?
But I don't doubt your expertise when it comes to "brain damage" -- you are one physician who should DEFINITELY "heal thyself!"
