1) There were four serious candidates for the GOP nomination. While it is true that Ben Sasse was endorsed by Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin, I'd challenge anyone to find a dime's worth of difference in their campaign position points. All claimed to be a) favoring the repeal of Obamacare b)real conservatives c) pro-life and d) pro 2nd amendment.
2) Shane Osborne was the favorite of the mainstream GOP. Sid Dinsdale is a banker and car seller from central Nebraska. They essentially cancelled each other out among the only-moderately-crazy wing of the party.
3) None of the five GOPers would likely be any different than Mike Johanns.
4) It's going to be tough for Dave Domina, as Nebraska is pretty deeply red at this point. He's best known for his opposition to KXL. If he's going to fight the Tea Party, and the Ricketts/Koch money machine, he will need help. Find out more about Democrat Dave Domina.
