By Karen Tumulty
Is Hillary Rodham Clinton healthy enough to be president or is the prospect of her candidacy so formidable that shes driving her adversaries to desperation?
If Clinton decides to run in 2016, her age and health are certain to be talked about, given that she would be vying to become the second-oldest person in history to be elected. She would be 69, only a little younger than Ronald Reagan when he won his first term in 1980.
What had been only a secondary issue, compared with the prospect of electing the first female president, has suddenly burst to the fore. On Tuesday, the New York Post ran a provocative headline: Karl Rove: Hillary may have brain damage.
The newspaper reported that George W. Bushs former chief strategist suggested as much at a recent conference near Los Angeles.

(4,325 posts)to rove any more? I don't think the repugs even listen much any more. The is a BIG MEDIA item because they can't seem to think of anything else to report on! To much of the MEDIA TRIES to determine who will win an election. I wish they would remember they are to REPORT on the news, not INVENT the news.

(45,251 posts)facts so off the wall that even FOX News felt compelled to question him. (Or so it appears from the clips I've seen on the Daily Show and MSNBC.)
Not saying that the CONservative will not try to make them both issues but, you know, repiggies.

(27,787 posts)friends, acquaintances, pets, mannerisms, food choices, husband, daughter, distant relatives, birth weight, every school she's attended ... you name it ... the GOP will freak out about it.
But it will be fun to watch Fox News tell their primary demographic (old people) that Hillary is too old.

(3,639 posts)stupid as the MSM would like you to believe. They support Social Security and Medicare, and they realize that the repuke parties wonder boy ryan and the rest of their clowns want to privatize both, and effectively destroy those programs.

(3,639 posts)statements not based on actual facts.
There have been so many pseudo stories based on incorrect information from the MSM, they should be hanging their heads in shame.
I wonder how they will explain their analysis when Democrats retain control of the Senate?
You post is right on

(3,639 posts)garbage whose only source is rove, limbaugh, and the usual suspects.
The MSM can get bent. Sources and getting the facts are not part of their vocabulary
When I first saw the movie Network, never did I realize how prophetic it was.
Actually, the movie anchorman II was a broad brush slam at the media today, emphasizing what a joke they are.

(4,631 posts)Was McCain's age and health an issue? I don't suspect her health and age would be brought up any more than McCain's.

(10,167 posts)that's always been the kiss of death. But seriously, it may be. And for Bernie Sanders too.

(5,455 posts)it is a legitimate question about ANY presidential candidate. Biden, if he chooses to run, will face the same questions.
McCain's age and health were an issue in 2008, probably not the biggest issue in his campaign, but it was a concern.
If historical trends continue, the next President will probably be a governor. The last president to get elected whose prior position was in the Cabinet was Herbert Hoover.

(13,992 posts)Of COURSE it will be an issue.
White Water will be an issue
Vince Foster will be an issue
Whether Hillary gets too much foam on her latte will be an issue
The Republicans are stock piling poop to throw at her. This will be the ugliest election in American history -- count on it.
