American Spring is on its way to DC to overthrow the government, and in their numbers, too. Led by a retired Colonel who once worked at the NSA building while in the Army, they're predicting anywhere from 10 to 30 million TRVE PATRIUTS to arrive in DC and take over the city. When? This very Friday, May 18. It's all on the hush-hush, apparently, since it's barely making any news, and its own website is running on a very, very tight budget. But, still, their stealth army of carefully camouflaged vehicles is on its way, bringing anywhere from 10 to 30 million people to the nations Capital. I'm thinking it will be closer to 10 people than to 30 million, though. Here are some photos of the vehicles in this massive convoy:
Is DC ready for the tens of people who will show up to overthrow the elected government of the USA? Who can say? I know that I'm going to be watching the live feed of this coupe on Friday.

If one of the premiere websites for this type of bat-shit nuttery can't generate more enthusiasm for the event than that you might as well call it a day.
MineralMan
(146,284 posts)but nobody's there, really. Apparently, this is not gaining momentum, two days before it is supposed to happen.
I think they need to cancel the porta-potty order.
It ain't happening.
Check it out:

This is the official website.
Ain't nobody coming, as far as I can see.

(5,842 posts)from the main site - Phase 2 - "One million or more of the assembled 10 million must be prepared to stay in D.C. as long as it takes to see Obama, Biden, Reid, McConnell, Boehner, Pelosi, and Attorney General Holder removed from office".
Yeah, good luck getting your non-millionaire supporters to stretch their savings out more than week at normal DC hotel rates before they give up and go home.

(146,284 posts)DC is busy on Fridays. A bunch of morons will hardly stand out at all, even if they are holding misspelled signs.
And, as you say, they won't be able to afford hotels, food, or anything else. If they try to drive into DC, they won't be able to afford parking, assuming they can find an open spot.
This is just another ill-conceived bit of nonsense that has no chance of drawing a huge crowd. Now, Obama's first inauguration? That brought folks into town, for sure.

I guess they just plan on walking to DC.

(146,284 posts)Here's the official website of this "organization:"
http://operationamericanspring.org/
They have a discussion forum. Based on the minuscule activity on that official discussion forum, it appears that this event is more likely to turn out 10 people, rather than 10 million.
I'm thinking that the DC police and other agencies can safely stand down from their extensive preparations for this nonsense.
Looks like it's a bust.

(115,661 posts)to brag that your event is going to attract 30 million people (or any other extremely large number) unless you're damn sure they are likely to show up. Because when they don't, and not even close, your organization will be tagged with a big fat FAIL and a whole lot of ridicule, like what's going to happen with the "American Spring" nimrods. Just say "a lot of people" will come, then you can define how many "a lot" is. You also won't have to rent every Porta-Potty in the continental U.S.

(10,745 posts)I mean, seriously, do these racist reactionary douchebags really think they can intimidate us into just surrendering? Really?
TBH, chances are, if anything, they might get maybe a few thousand to show up......with at least a few thousand serving as counter protestors. In any case, I love a good case of RWNJs being humiliated. Let it be.

(10,422 posts)I think I'll take off work on Friday to avoid the massive traffic backups caused by the Million Teabagger March on the local DC traffic. Which is, of course, made up by thousands of nameless, faceless bureaucrats going to their Federal jobs to think up more ways to regulate and tax people!
