'Biggest dinosaur ever' discovered

This gigantic dinosaur stood 40m long and 20m tall, based on the length of its enormous thigh bones.

Weighing in at 77 tonnes, it was as heavy as 14 African elephants, and seven tonnes heavier than the previous record holder, Argentinosaurus.

Scientists believe it is a new species of titanosaur, enormous herbivores that lived during the Late Cretaceous, the last days of the dinosaurs.

A local farm worker first stumbled on the remains in the desert near La Flecha, about 250km west of Trelew, Patagonia.

I picture a scene in pre-history where the diggers of a well scatter out of the pit and solemn Elders are summoned. They look down and order all digging be stopped out of fear they are close to the world of monsters.

We were laughing, how often do you see Honolulu, Las Vegas and San Fran destroyed in a movie? And in this case, it was in the same movie!

the biggest dinosaur ever was the GOP. Don't tell them! It's one more 'bone' in their 6000 year old Earth story. (Oh, I forgot. They think our ancestors rode those things like horses. )

supposedly because the people that Magellan found there were considered giants, compared to Europeans.

I began wondering about this when they discovered that other huge species, the Argentino dinosaur, down there. How very appropriate that the biggest animal ever to walk the earth is found in an area called Big Foot. Makes me intrigued about what may lie further down, under the disappearing ice of Antarctica. A Jules Verne mystery.

I love that picture! Thanks for sharing, okaawhatever!
