'Girls Gone Wild' founder Joe Francis arrested on assault charge

"Girls Gone Wild" founder Joe Francis spent the night in jail following an arrest on misdemeanor assault charges, authorities said Saturday.

Francis, 41, was arrested Friday evening at an office building in the 10900 block of Wilshire Boulevard after he was involved in "pushing and shoving," according to Los Angeles police Sgt. John Juarez.

Juarez did not know if Francis had been released on bail. He said police were investigating whether Francis' presence at the building was a violation of a "stay away" order issued by federal Bankruptcy Court.

Francis filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in February 2013. His creditors included casino mogul Steve Wynn.

2. Nope. But sadly, the guy seems to be nearly untouchable, at least in legal terms.

Though maybe in this case, he'll finally be facing some consequences, even if it is only a misdemeanor.

4. He has served jail time, but it's not much in comparison to everything he's done -

up to and including sexual assault. The guy is a true scumbag who needs to be put away from society, for a while anyway.
