Would a woman as obese as Chris Christie have gotten as far in politics?

I can't think of a woman politician at such an unhealthy weight who would be seriously discussed as a presidential prospect.

There's some kind of point in there about superficiality or a double standard.

1. She would not have gotten enough signatures on the ballot to run let alone win. Since we are talking

about health issues. If Christie were to run health should be one of the issues. However, rethugs do not seem to be very concerned about health unless it is the health of a Democrat.

7. First of all he is not on the ballot yet

He will not get the Republican nomination so this really is just speculation at this point. Most Republicans don't think he is to the right enough....The Republican party has moved so right that it practically can't move much more to the right so their is nothing left to move right too.

15. Neither is Hillary but that isn't slowing them down.

The whole thing will degenerate into "what is she keeping from us?" faster than you can say "bullshit!"

2. Not a chance.

DU is a bit sensitive when we talk about Christie Girth Certificate, but if it were a woman of that size - it would be allowed more frequently with a lot more giggles.

4. Not only the weight, but no woman as uncouth as him would

have made it either, especially as a Republican.

6. No.

It's far more accepted in a male than a female. There is a double standard, no doubt.

9. Voters don't care about health issues...

A woman of his size wouldn't have a chance because of appearance issues.

Sucks, but true.

10. Is this not a question that be answered simply by looking at our history? There is no "would" about

it. Oh, you mean had an obese woman TRIED, would she.....

American women know better than to try.
