3. an out-of-stater is visiting a rich friend in Texas.

The Texas friend is showing him his huge home, offering him large drinks and bragging on and on about how everything is bigger in Texas. Finally the out-of-stater asked where the bathroom was. "Down the hall and to the left." the guy went down the hall and to the right, walked in and fell in a pool. When he surfaced he managed to yell "Don't flush it!"

4. It is pretty bad here.

An apartment complex in San Antonio sprang up on IH-10 near De Zavala that was built by a foreign conglomerate. Beautiful, luxury apartments. But, they were barely the size of studio apartments. The builders had thought Texans wouldn't mind small apartments since New Yorkers lived in apartments that size. They hardly got any of them leased. We Texans are spoiled. Students might snap up studio apartments, but they won't be able to afford luxury ones. And people with money won't want to live in a place unless it's got at least 2,000 or preferably, more sq. feet.

5. Texas does have their share of morons

But there is a sliver of hope there with rising Democratic stars like Wendy Davis and the Castro twins. People like them give me hope that Texas will eventually turn blue.
