Fox News has gone all Benghazi all of the time, and the result has been Foxs worst rated non-holiday week with younger viewers since before 9/11/ in 2001.
According to The Wrap, During the week of May 5, 2014 the most recent for which numbers are available Fox News delivered an average of 180,000 viewers in the key 25-54 demographic in live-plus-same-day measurement across the total day. That measures programming from 6 a.m. until the following 6 a.m. Fox pulled the same number the previous week, the week of April 28.
To put this into context, Fox News only averaged 4,000 viewers on Christmas week last year. Foxs other record low came during Christmas week in 2012. In order to find a non-holiday week where Fox News had fewer younger viewers, one has to go the whole way back to the week before the 9/11 terror attacks.

(5,082 posts)4 Americans died and that is sad and regrettable. No one fired over the REAL 911!?!? Even their small brains must register this hypocrisy. Is the brain washing that effective? There should've been an American Spring 10 years ago over our rogue intelligence agencies and the Bush administration's complicity and culpability in facilitating 911 and covering it up after with the assistance of " friendly" governments in the Middle East like Saudi Arabia who work hand in hand with the Bush established Carlyle Group and Cheney run Halliburton. Heads should've rolled. No one. Not one fired. Thats how you guarantee silence and keep secrets from getting out as any mafia cartel can explain to the small-minded. We as democrats dropped the ball by bending over for the rethuglicans...AGAIN. Enjoy the Patriot Act, NSA, DEA and police exponential increases in power over us.

(295,913 posts)Waterloo".. Ooops, Waterloo alright but President Obama and the American People were the Victors..
Waterloo: Obama is our Duke of Wellington
snip//
DeMint may be demented, but he was right about one thing: health care reform was indeed Obama's Waterloo. DeMint was just wrong about which side had the Napoleon complex.
In warfare, there is typically a winning side and a losing side. Pacifists may prefer to think that in war everyone loses, yet ABBA grasped the essential zero-sum nature of war in their 1974 hit single 'Waterloo': 'WaterlooI was defeated, you won the war.'
The British military leader credited with the victory at Waterloo was Field Marshall Arthur Wellesley, First Duke of Wellington. So epic was the victory that a dish was named for him: Beef Wellington.
As at Waterloo, someone had to win the epic battle to determine whether Americans deserve, like their counterparts in the other industrialized democracies, to receive medical treatment when they are ill. Waterloo was not just an epic defeat; it was also an epic victory. And like Duke Wellington, Obama's name has already entered everyday speech by being attached to his unprecedented achievement in law: Obamacare.

(297 posts)The good news for Fox: Even when it's down, it still handily beats CNN and MSNBC across most ratings metrics.
In total viewers, Fox News Channel ranked No. 7 across total day. Competitors CNN and MSNBC ranked No. 36 and No. 31, respectively, for the week of May 5.
now cue up multiple responses of "they all suck"

(9,494 posts)viewership. The point is that there is everyone else and there are Fox viewers and they are not so much. According to Gallup 8% of Americans get their "news" from Fox. That leaves 92% who are relatively sane.

(579 posts)that...it's because Democrats/Liberals are not attached to one station and one station only like most conservatives.
If Democrats were to become sheeple like the Republican/conservative Tea Party extremists, we would all be keeping our TVs on MSNBC just like conservatives/Tea Partiers keep their TVs on Faux News 24/7.

(11,785 posts)and neither of those tunes seem to be drawing GOP voters the way they'd hoped. And here they are, doubling down on Benghazi! with this Special Subcommittee. I have a feeling that one's gonna blow up in their faces. So sad.

(25,111 posts)I go into bars, stores, et al., its either Cnn or fake. No MSNBC. Bullshit is heavy and have been since the later years of the Clinton Adm. Bushies made it the worst. There is no such thing as fair and balance, nada. Protects that are gear towards "what America is" that generates 10-100 thousands corporate media down plays and hides. Corporate media back in 2010 showed loud tea brats and it became the issue, but the 10-over 100,000 - nope, that are America.
At this point in time, we the people - Vote.
And yes, the GOP and their allies with constant trolls (here) want to keep "Liberals/Progressives/Moderates from voting.

(17,656 posts)The corporate media just loves Jonathan Karl, Karl Rove, and any of the other insane possum klowns howling at the moon about President Obama or "Obamacare".
The local Faux Snooze channel carries Jonathan Karl's rants about Obama on their so-called nightly "news" broadcasts.
But, that channel may be owned by ABC here in Idaho by now.
They keep shifting the labels about which corporation owns which channel here every 5 or 6 years to keep us dazed and confused.
But, their magic has no power on Democrats.
