The "Moron Identification Law"

My brother, who lives in Texas, and has always been VERY pro-gun-control, told me that there's one issue on which he agrees with the NRA: open-carry laws. He calls them the "Moron Identification Law". He says, "so if I walk into a restaurant, and I see a moron, I can turn around and leave. It's a hell of a lot better than concealed carry."

So long as these idiots self-identify it makes it a lot easier for the rest of us to avoid them.

The only people carrying weapons I have ever seen are Police and Security Guards. I can't ever remember seeing anyone wearing a pistol on their leg or hip who didn't also carry a badge.

well with one exception....

I would bet a Beard Papa cream puff that you could probably find some people like that in, say, San Bernardino, Rialto or Colton. Or Big Bear Lake, for that matter. In fact, I had a roommate from Big Bear Lake once who undoubtedly would love to be packing heat out in the open.

meal when the moron walks in, does he quickly change his order to a "to go" one?

Timing, who walks in when, might matter a lot.

... depending on the situation, I might walk out before the food arrives, telling the management.

If the food had arrived, I could ask for a box.

What could be worse than disrupting a meal?

Dodging bullets.

I've done that, and don't recommend it.

Hopefully, I didn't pre-pay.

If I did, I'd call the restaurant later and arrange for a refund in a safer environment.
