My sweet 17 year old sweet baby cat, Scat, passed at 11:30am.
She began to feel bad and then her breathing changed. I took her to the vet and x-rayed her chest. Her lungs looked awful. There was a fluid buildup too.
I didn't bring her back home because all I would do is cry. She hates the vet and it was getting harder for her to do anything.
I held her when she crossed the Rainbow Bridge. My two best buddies are now gone.
I am completely crushed and utterly bereft.
RIP Scat baby. Find Mousie.

they will all meet. I know so much how you feel, I miss my kitty of 12 years so much, we were so very close 7x24.
I am so sorry. I know it hurts but 17 is a nice long life for a fur baby. And, like Mousie, she was loved and cared for and had a good forever home. You could not have given her more.

My precious doggie passed last January. Maybe our babies are frolicking together across the Rainbow Bridge.

I'm really glad you have two new young ones - it's really hard to lose one cat, let alone two. I feel for you Grits.
Be strong, and take comfort that you gave both your cats a wonderful home...
Had the same thing happen to me; lost two of them within 2 mos. of one another. It was incredibly sad and I was a mess for a long time.
HOWEVER, this happened at the end of 2011 and early 2012. It was about 6 mos. ago that we finally adopted two very loving two kittens (now they are about 10 mos. old and oh what a handful they are -- a good handful!) from the local shelter.
I wish I knew what to say but I have no words for you except that take good care of yourself. Time is the great healer (or so they say ...).
In the meantime ...
It's coming up on a year since Tiger wandered across the bridge. I still glance at places he use to hang out half expecting to see him.

I remember when our beloved English Bulldog, Maggie, passed away in 2009. We still miss her, but we have a lot of fond memories as well. Take good care.

It's never easy, even when they've had long wonderful lives. You have my sympathy.
All we can do is love them while they are with us.
I suspect I'll be facing this soon. My Wicket is 17 and has a heart condition. He seems fine, but it's only a matter of time.
So hard to lose them, and so tough to lose them so closely together. I hope you can find peace in your memories of Scat and Mousie. Remember, they are now together.
I know how much it hurts to lose a furbaby, and to have lost two this close together...I feel for your loss more than words can convey.

i know how you feel. lost my kitty two years ago, and i still miss her.
I understand. Every time I lose one of my babies it feels like I've lost a child.

She was a beautiful girl. You were so very lucky to have her in your life.

for all our animals over the past 30 years or so, and I think (hope) it comforts them.
Thank you for taking care of them.
It has been my experience that, sooner than I expected, the loss will became more manageable and the space it left was filled with thoughts of the good times. That left me with more to do though, because I was then left to figure out how to apply the lessons they demonstrated for me on how better to live life.
And while I realize that I am woefully short on napping and playing, the hardest thing for me to learn was that I need to keep trying to moving those to the top of the list, not where I usually put them. 
We will have some good thoughts for you and the good times and memories you are left with.
Losing two little furkids within just a few months is devastating. I'm so sorry for your losses.
I'm sure that tonight in Kittie cat heaven, Scat & Mousie are having a great game with their favorite catnip toy and missing you. While you do have your new kitties, there is a part of us that will always love all of the pets who go before us. My heart aches for you and the loss of you 2 family members. Please accept my best wishes and condolences!

I know that feeling. Two times, I have lost a pair of cats in a rather short period of time. The emptiness consumes you. (Not right this minute, since I did get another sweetheart who says it is time for bed and dinner so is walking all over the computer.)
May you find another companion who will fill some of that void. I didn't think I could, but I was wrong. Take time to mourn.

We have not always gotten along but I know well and have always admired your devotion to your fur babies. I am so, so sorry for your loss.
