I watched this the other night--you may be able to watch it here if you want--depends on whether you have it on your cable provider, and can sign into it.
I guess it "sounds" like it's a conspiracy theory, but in this modern day a lot of things about the "Oligarchs," (wealthy, controlling, ruling overlords) are true. They do manage increasing control over us, over the agenda, these 492 Americans, and China and Russia's nearly 300.
They implied at some point that perhaps one of their agendas, gleaned from their meetings in exclusive, upscale resorts, is reduction of the world's population. Now I've repeatedly advocated for this idea. Clearly we're swirling around the drain, ready to be sucked down with an ignominious gurgle, into existence's septic tank. I keep waiting for things that show me glimpses of hope, and once and a while I get a fleeting flash, which us usually quickly squelched by repeated trains, or oil ships blowing up, or sexually frustrated gun-nuts, running around shooting women who won't kiss him. Add rich billionaires who make 1.8 million an hour, using their full political moneyed force to keep the poorest WORKERS from getting a raise to just above government cheese levels.
But who will they cull from the herd? Certainly soldiers, usually the poorest, mostly in it for the job, are always fodder. Do you really think they worry about all these suicides, all the soldiers coming back? Hell they delight in it--they've used you, and you're doing them the favor of offing yourselves. IF for no other reason, you should stay alive just to spite these rich f*cks who've used you to dominate oil fields in Iraq, and Afghanny-nam. Don't give them the satisfaction. This blaming the VA, and Shinseki for problems they've always had, especially with 2 million new Veterans flowing into the system, is just so much more expected bullshit.
And there is the school to prison pipeline, always supplying new folks straight out of school, usually the poorest, into prison systems. It's ever more likely these systems will also be privatized. Dandy isn't it, that not only have the rich created a system in the richest country that fails you. They want to make money off it, and straight from the government till.
Then there is a nut every week, that runs around, kills a group of 99 percenters. It's become so regular that they aren't even news events anymore, we no longer have continuous conversation about it for weeks afterward. Ho-hum, just another mass shooting, so passe, so banal. Regulate guns? That's crazy-talk--I mean as long as people aren't wandering into our nations Country Clubs, or Republican meetings and conventions, and mowing down 50 or 60 of them, let us have guns, guns, and more guns!!!
Then generally, as I alluded to earlier, there are all sorts of disasters where people get killed--again, wealthy neighborhoods aren't generally located next to the exploding fertilizer plants, or the coal burning power plant, where neighbors children and the adults for that matter (don't they matter too??) get Asthma, and all sorts of other difficulties, not to mention the Mercury that builds up in any water sources, then the fish.
Better living through Chemistry, right? No telling how many die from those injuries. Obesity--tons and tons of people are dying from that one.
They'll never do anything that would cut a slice of people, like a random 20% of us out. Hell no, don't release that virus, or sickness, as it might kill us Billionaires too--well, unless of course you distribute the cure, or the vaccine first.
Personally I think we'd all be better off if more of us just chose to not have children. But be sure of it, the rich will be trying their best to whittle down our population, taking off the bad wood to mold just what they want from that piece of wood, to sculpt society into their own image, their own idea. And they've got the bucks to do it.
It's one of many reasons to bring back a massive inheritance tax, and wealth tax on the richest. Too much money, gives too damned much power.
You might think they'd be able to easily achieve this--why not just push abortion, get politicians into office that will allow abortion, or push as much free contraception as we can, into the general population.
The problem with that is, they'd have to push Democrats, who have economic positions they don't find palatable. Add to that, young folks, and infants have potential, perhaps. Add to that, they need wage-slaves, and want them young to make millions an hour. And if they can't, there are as I mentioned private prisons, where they will make money off the misery they are creating.
Other than the poor, they'd love to get rid of old folks--you clearly see this bias in corporations, that leads them to often throw people over 50 into the trash can. In my limited existence, I've seen several anecdotal examples of old folks being kicked out of jobs they've worked in their whole lives, only to have the company hire new, young people, usually for less money.
