RimJob is "woo-hoo"-ing his "2nd quarter 2012 FReepathon." Target: $94,000. Pledges to date: $220.

They have done literally NOTHING to upgrade this site in YEARS.

And yet RimJob needs $31,333 A MONTH to keep it running.

Granted, it is very, very "sophistimacated." Looks like something Jethro Boding would have put together if The Beverly Hillbillies ran during the era of "Websites."

Good luck, RimJob! Cha-CHING!

They have added a couple more sections, though.

And what is their actual traffic, as opposed to DU?

I was kind of shocked to see this. I am sure Skinner has other performance stats and analytics he references. I just checked out Alexa because it's one of the better-known sites that ranks Website traffic.

FR:

Global Rank (The rank is calculated using a combination of average daily visitors to democraticunderground.com and pageviews on democraticunderground.com over the past 3 months. The site with the highest combination of visitors and pageviews is ranked #1.):

4,593

U.S. Rank (The rank by country is calculated using a combination of average daily visitors to democraticunderground.com and pageviews on democraticunderground.com from users from that country over the past 3 months. The site with the highest combination of visitors and pageviews is ranked #1 in that country.):

1,032

Estimated percentage of global internet users who visit freerepublic.com: 0.0307 (three month average, down 6% )

DU:

Global Rank: 4,784

U.S. Rank: 1,114

Sometime, take a look at their frontpage - look at the thread starts, and responses. It's a fraction of what goes on here. I suspect that they have some kind of automated bots to do page hits because the actual activity doesn't square with the stats.

That's probably about how much it costs per year to keep that site running.

Has anyone figured out what RimJob spends the rest of the money on..?

All you really have to do is buy a new hamster to keep the server running.
