The fact that Martin was found face down seems to mean one of two things:

He was shot in the back and fell, landing face down.

Or he was shot in the chest, and landed on his back. And then Zimmerman would have had to turn him over.

Why would he have done that?

He clearly falls back, however I suppose it's possible Trayvon could have spun around and fallen back but on his front side? Notice how the guy in the video seems to spin.

Wow! And if this doesn't make you think of Trayvon I don't know what would! Look how the child seems to be pleading for his life:

&skipcontrinter=1

However, again he doesn't even fall down but tries to get away from the man who is shooting at him.

I guess the possibility of being shot in the chest, falling to your knees and collapsing is just too 'make believe'.

Taking your arms out from under your body would have been the first thing freed if a roll happen. And when you fall face first the first thing you do is try to brace the fall with your arms. He didn't, telling me he was dead before he even hit the ground.

At this point, they won't say if he was shot from the front or the rear. So we're just speculating and they won't tell.

There are plenty of instances in which some one is shot from the front and ends up face down. Google it, if you don't believe me.

The more relevant question is what positions were Zimmerman and Trayvon in at the time the shot was fired. If Trayvon was on top of Zimmerman, one possibility would be that he pitched forward, but then Zimmerman would have to get out from under him and would be covered in blood. Or Trayvon might have pitched backwards, even tried to stand and then fell forward. Of pretty much anything in between. I'm having trouble, however, with the idea that Trayvon was on top of Zimmerman when the shot was fired. Not buying that version at all.

Of course we won't know until the autopsy report is released along with the gun powder residue results. But all the witnesses and the police said Martin was lying face down with his hands underneath him when he was found.

One thing we know for sure, Zimmerman lied about giving aid to Trayvon after he was shot. Not only did witnesses say he never gave aid, but how can u even give aid when the person you're supposedly giving aid to is face down with his hands underneath him? So many lies, yet this punk is still free.

There are way more than two possibilities. Martin could have taken a few steps before collapsing face first. Most shooting victims don't die instantly where they stand. I don't think the position of the body says much about the circumstances of the shooting.

Too much hollywood in general. IIRC the stats correctly, something like only 20% of gunshots are fatal, and rarely as seen on tv / movies where someone just collapses.

He may have been holding his chest when he was still standing and died while standing holding his chest. His arms were underneath his body. He could have died while standing up and then his arms fell down in front of himself after when he landed face down. That's instant enough of a death.
