(115,661 posts)Just as with a president, the House of Representatives has to vote articles of impeachment (not gonna happen with the current House), and then there would be a trial in the Senate. The justice can be removed only if convicted. Only one Supreme Court justice has ever been impeached by the House: Samuel Chase in 1805. And he was acquitted by the Senate. So I'm not holding my breath.

But given the fact that the gop has gerrymandered House districts, it looks to be too much of a longshot.
