A tubal ligation requires hospitalization and is not CHEAP. Sterilization is against the Catholic religion in addition to contraceptives. So now an employer can tell Mrs. B with 5 kids that she cannot have her tubes tied? Again, this could cost thousands of dollars in a hospital. Sorry, woman, practice abstinence in your marriage if you don't want more children. MY religion says every sex act must be open to having children. Well, maybe she should sue him for CHILD SUPPORT then? Does this also now give this employer the right to tell his MALE EMPLOYEES that vasectomies will not be covered under their insurance because his religion objects to that?
Your health care now will be determined by your employer's RELIGION. Oh, and men, this could affect you too.

Mine would have been covered if we had opted for me to have it, but it's easier for men to do it.

(14,337 posts)in advance of giving birth. Don't the majority of couples decide to limit the number of kids they have? They should decide that before they even get married. The best way to do that is sterilization, either for the woman, or the man.
I guess that is why a tubal is covered under the ACA. Permanent birth control.
