State Contraceptive Mandates

NY is one. If an employer offers Prescription Drug coverage, contraceptives must be included in the plan. Can these religious employers opt out now?

Second, problem is Public Employees. Your taxes pay their wages and health benefits. Are they now going to refuse to pay their State Taxes because that money is covering contraceptives for civil servants? They are "facilitating" contraceptive usage for teachers, police, etc. Sue the City of New York over this too?

The employers will be able to opt out, on religious grounds.

I don't know the answer to the second question ... but it's the same one that arises when people keep insisting a single-payer plan would obviate the need for all this hoo-ha. I'm not so sure: mandated contraceptive coverage is the issue for these extremists, and they will fight any system that requires coverage for contraception.
