STORM LAKE, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say a 3-year-old’s call to 911 helped lead to the arrest of a man accused of sexually assaulting the child’s mother in Storm Lake.

Police say the child dialed 911 early Tuesday but did not speak to emergency dispatchers. Police went to an apartment, where they say 30-year-old Denis Reyes-Morales jumped out of a second-story window.

Police say Reyes-Morales had entered the apartment and sexually assaulted a woman. He was later arrested at his home.

Reyes-Morales faces charges of first-degree burglary, third-degree sexual abuse and assault with intent to commit sexual abuse.
