What should President Obama do to counter the attacks and threats from the GOP...?
and the right-wing extremists in Congress?
In my opinion, he needs to stop playing defense and go on the offensive.
First of all, we are having a humanitarian crisis on our border, down in Texas. Young children are crossing the border without parents or guardians by the tens of thousands. There is no place to keep them. It is a crisis.
Some were put on buses and sent to California because they had more shelter and room for them at a center out there. But, before the bus could reach its destination, the road was blocked with flag-waving, screaming Americans. They were yelling, "Go back! Go back! We don't want you here! USA! USA! USA!"...
What should the President do? He has stated that he will go it alone if the Congress will not help him. But that is too easy on this Congress.
He should demand to meet with John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, Kevin McCarthy, and other Republicans in Congress, in order to resolve this crisis. If they are going to sue him and threaten him over his actions, the least they can do is come up with a solution? The President is willing to work with them but they refuse to do anything - not even to protect our nation.
The President must insist that the Republicans get involved. They can no longer sit on the sidelines and criticize and threaten the President. We are experiencing a crisis on our southern border and something must be done. Perhaps he should call them back to special session? Even then, they would accuse him of acting like a dictator. He needs to communicate better with the American people.
