MSNBC Names José Díaz-Balart New Host, his brother is part of the problem in Central America

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/05/20/msnbc-jose-diaz-balart-new-host_n_5360220.html

He was just on with Rev. Al railing against people who want to turn away Central American kids who are crossing the border.

Please note that his brothers are the most notorious right wingers who helped cause the problems in Central America, and elsewhere especially Cuba.

Why doesn't he ask his brother WHY it's such a bad situation in Honduras? His brother knows full well that he was part of the congressional group that went to Honduras and supported the coup thugs who have created a human rights disaster in the country.

Don't be fooled. Ask him to ask his brother/s for the reasons behind the suffering of the Central Americans. I can find better links analysis of what happened but we know the drill.

Florida Republicans U.S. Reps. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Lincoln Diaz-Balart and Mario Diaz-Balart returned from Honduras Tuesday and said that the major presidential candidates there want the elections to go ahead, with U.S. support.

to the Republican party.

No doubt about it. This is a coup for Repukes. Especially when he comes off as a moderate, now even has credentials with liberals via his new show on msnbc.

If you just watched his over the top emotional bs about the kids you can see how slimey he is. "If you don't have kids maybe you don't know what it means .. blah blah" "this young woman was threatened with rape" blah blah.

Of course working the emotions which is a way of undermining what the govt. has to do with the situation as well as ignoring history.

The US right wing is responsible for their suffering and he's a part of that rats nest.

In general it's hard for Latinos to break through, the powers that be figure he's got a stamp of approval and won't be too progressive (certainly not..)

I had a mad crush on Rafael Diaz-Balart when I was 15 and spent the summer in Torremolinos, Spain.

Not to mention his ministering for Batista's brutal dictatorship, and a Bush BFEE made man.

All I have to say re all these children at the border is 'the chickens are coming home to roost'.
We are seeing the long term consequences of enforced right wing politics by US backed military juntas, drugs, guns, murder and mayhem financed by US corporations and politicians.

The most rabid of the Latin American political elite and private sector thugs were given their visas ages ago. Have no fear some of them are profiting from this border mess.

I'm concerned that the right will just use this against Obama, as usual. As stated by some expert today: loss of control of the borders is a huge negative for any President. The repukes are thrilled with this turn of events.

Hillary over this especially. I haven't read her book where apparently she has seen the light about Cuba, but her attitude towards President Zelaya in Honduras was shortsighted to say the least. They let a democratically elected president get tossed out, someone who had improved the country and cared about the poor, just because he was chummy with Hugo Chavez.. another democratically elected President.

They are uber concerned about the US army base in Honduras and seemed to let the country descend into chaos, well what did they expect when ultra reactionary thugs took over..

didn't know about Brent Bozell.

I just searched and found that link. It was an important story but not publicized very much after the coup in Honduras. So the sites that came up were mostly extolling the congressmen for their trip to Honduras and supporting the thugs that removed a democratically elected President.

A real dark mark on the USA's human rights record.
