After several warm days followed by humid nights, I survived the 2-3 inches of rain while Arthur and the cold front swept through. I opened the windows to take in the nice breeze and woke this morning to a house at 57°F!
So now I'm shivering waiting for the day to heat up again.

(47,803 posts)I'm very sensitive to cold and but very tolerant of heat. I prefer to be too warm than too cold.
So I spend all winter (and much of fall and spring) griping about the cold and snow.
Therefore, I figure I have no reason to complain about the heat. So I accept it stoically, no matter how hot it gets.

(16,199 posts)Anything over about 77°F is too hot for me. A day in the 80s will leave salt rings in my shirts because I sweat so much. But I can hack the cold and handled this winter fine. That was a major reason I moved up here when I got out of college.
But I didn't expect it to be 57°F on a July morning inside the house...

(14,733 posts)I prefer temps running from 55-65, with nice winds and a lot of clouds. Fall never lasts long enough for me.

(51,076 posts)last two years we'd already had many days of 100 plus degree days so far. I don't think we've hit 95 yet this summer and doesn't look like we will anytime soon.

Last night was beautiful along Long Island Sound (Westchester County) Great fireworks, too.
Slept like a baby with a light blanket and sheet.
Enjoy while you can. The "triple-H" days will come upon us soon, though hopefully we will not have many of them.

(21,020 posts)the temps got down to where I am (Hilltowns, Western Mass), but it's 62 right now outdoors.
Inside it's 68. Waiting for the sun to warm the place up.

(3,370 posts)I didn't get anything from Arthur. I'm in PA. We got the storms and rain from the cold front that pushed him off the coast.
Last night, my kids wore pants and jackets and stayed tucked into sleeping bags to watch the fireworks. I was wrapped in two sleeping bags. It was a beautiful night.

(60,010 posts)Arthur blew breezes from the north down to us, yesterday was lovely, not too hot, last night was wonderful,
and today will be only mid 80's.
We get back up to the 90's tomorrow tho.
