****WCGreen Update --Saturday July 5, 2014****

From his wife:

A Christopher Green update:

Sorry, I have spending a lot more time with Chris. He is more himself every day. Last night we watched fireworks from his 9th floor room, facing east. Confinement to his bed prevented him from seeing them all. There were fireworks all along the lake, out east and south.

Thanks again to all that supported us by eating at Frankie's Italian Cuisine!

What is his prognosis? It's been a long time with these updates, is there any exit of the woods in the future?

WCGreen has been ill for many years with a bad lung disease, so bad that his doctors told him that eventually he would need to have both lungs transplanted. The transplant happened Jan. 2, 2014.

Since then he has been in the hospital, on the vent with a tracheostomy. His course has been rocky. Things have not gone as expected, and now we don't know if he will get well or not.

He's been on antibiotics over many years, and as a result, his infections are resistant. They could very well be the end of him. I got the call at the end of May, and his wife told me that they thought he had days, not weeks to live, so I went to say goodbye. Those posts are in my Journal.

He fought the infections off, and so here we are now.

I hope this helps.

A double lung transplant? Good grief - what an arduous journey! Thank you for keeping us all posted about it, dear Peggy!

I think I was reading updates in December and January and things were looking good and so I sort of expected that he would ride into the sunset and live happily ever after.

I'm happy for him, his family and you for any extra time he gets, as long as it's not too painful. You keep him in my thoughts and "prayers" by having these continued updates and I thank you for that.

I too am glad for any extra time he gets. I am not ready to see him die...

And he isn't either.

I will continue to update as I hear from either his wife or his sister.

There is just too much bad news in this world. Getting good news and passing that on is sublime.
