Can we please change the lexicon from "pro life" to "pro birth"?

"I do not believe that just because you're opposed to abortion, that that makes you pro-life. In fact, I think in many cases, your morality is deeply lacking if all you want is a child born but not a child fed, not a child educated, not a child housed. And why would I think that you don't? Because you don't want any tax money to go there. That's not pro-life. That's pro-birth. We need a much broader conversation on what the morality of pro-life is."

I think it's funny the wackjobs think they are pro-life while supporting a known terrorist movement responsible for many murders and thousands of acts of violence, including bombings.

At the end of the day, they really do hate us for our freedoms.

and lo and behold, it's the first response!

You're right - they aren't "pro-life" they are anti choice. Almost every single pro-life person I have ever talked to was also pro death penalty.

Also, the idea of them being "pro" insinuates the opposiye is "anti" which is complete horseshit. No pro-choice person I have ever met was "anti-life", nor were they "pro-abortion" as the right likes to paint us.

Keep abortion safe, legal and RARE

Well said there, NutmegYankee!

One could have a personal view of pro-life but pro-choice for every one.

A dirty old male judge/politician should not have control over a women's reproductive system.

"personal" meaning it does not extend to supporting the removal of choice for others. I watched a interview with John Kerry in the run up to the 2004 election and which he explained his belief in similar terms. I cannot be a supporter of individual liberty and freedom and against government intrusion into our personal lives and at the same time advocate the restriction and removal of the right to choose.

but the truth is that they only care about the fetus so long as it's useful in controlling a woman.

interesting how the minute the fetus is born and they cannot so easily use the baby to control the woman, they no longer care so much about the baby.

but have no hesitation whatever in sending young men and women to war to be killed or maimed for life! I guess the ONLY life they are concerned with is the fetus'.

"Pro prize cow" would also be an option. It would force people to look at how these fucking jerks look at half the human race.

I am so sick of this. I wish the people who developed that flu super virus would figure out a way to make it zero in on these pro slavery, arrogant, evil bastards.

Sun Jul 6, 2014, 01:12 PM
Jul 2014

It is short and exactly descriptive of what these people stand for, which is: If you find yourself pregnant, then by Gum, you're gonna carry that baby to term and you're gonna birth it! It doesn't have a brain? Too bad, it's the will of God and you will carry that precious life to term and any suffering you experience is just your lot due to original sin (or something like that). Product of rape? Too bad, it's the will of God... (you get the drift).

Forced birth. That's what they stand for.

"Judgement Brigade, Flying Scold Squad"

'pro-"shoulda" '

How many times do these people let out the phrase "shouldn't have spread her legs in the first place" or some variant? They're against contraception in any form -- and warp definitions as needed to justify enforcing that view on everyone else. Health of the mother is put in quotes like "medicinal alcohol" during Prohibition -- a trumped up dodge for scoundrels to get around The Right Thing.

What they are against is Unauthorized Sex, with their own very narrow view of what constitutes "authorized". When these people get themselves beet-red, clenched-teeth angry, it's always over the sex part.
