for her to also blame the Federal Government especially since the President announced the money today. Instead of "calling on the Federal government to do something". I think it would have been more effective if she said, "Governor Perry needs to do something by calling an emergency session and start taking this seriously. Thank you President for taking the issue seriously and calling for federal funding to be released to border cities". That is what a professional would have said. Not saying she isn't a professional but there are ways to say things and there are other ways to say things to get the same point across.

What we know (wink-wink) is that any good Dem (like her) has to jump through hoops to GET ELECTED, and once they are ELECTED they will do the right thing.

Facts: As BEGALA said, "TX is not a Red state, it is a NON-VOTING state." It's difficult enough to wake the sleeping Hispanic giant to VOTE. The last Dems with charisma to win in TX were JFK, LBJ, and RICHARDSON. It takes charisma, which is hard to find.

She'd be a far cry better than Gregg Abbot for the people of Texas. Not to mention the kick in the knee to the GOP it would be if she were to win in Texas! I already plan to say y'all instead of you guys as tribute for an entire 6 months if it happens.

I get politics in red states. I have no problem with a Democratic governor candidate in a deeply red state like Texas saying what she said tonight.

and ABBOTT (and Ted Carnival CRUZ and Dan PATRICK and the rest) are not just *any* Rethugs, they are some kind of primeval ca-ca. Not that Shrub or GOODHAIR were any better.

Better doesn't even come close to the proper comparison. There really is no comparing the likes of Anne Richards or Wendy Davis to those clowns. At least when Texas votes Dem's into the governor's office they do it well!

Stuff like a pro-gun message, backtrack on the pro-abortion stance, complain about federal spending, be somewhat anti-illegal immigration, advocate for lower taxes, etc are what she will have to do to win.

As long people realize she can't run liberal or progressive in Texas she will be competitive.
