(20,606 posts)"Bitch" is a horrible word and should never ever be used in any context.
Please edit this post.

(8,434 posts)Stop reading the net as it's full of "offensive" stuff.
Put the poster on ignore.
Stop using DU.
or just get over it.

(20,606 posts)Awful degradation of women.
I find your net nannyism to be offensive.
I just wasn't going to cry about it.

(62,683 posts)I view it (especially in this context) as degrading. You don't speak for me.

(1,412 posts)unafraid to tell it like it is, to bluntly and honestly call out the shortcomings or injustices of the world and those around her.
Madonna, got to love her says, "I"m tough, I'm ambitious, and I know exactly what I want. If that makes me a bitch, okay"
Liz Taylor says," I know I'm vulgar, but would you have me any other way?"
Hillary Clinton, considered a bitch by many says, "I also believe that when you are attacked, you have to deck your opponent."
And from Glenn Close, actress, "I can make the switch to human any time I want to. People look at me and I know what they're thinking: Tough, Demanding, Bitch!.
So sit back zapp, pour yourself a glass of whine--er, wine--and get ready to embrace and fully appreciate the inner bitch you know and love. Whatever you prefer to call it--supreme confidence, and unapologetic attitude (I opt for the all-inclusive bitchiness)-- take pride in the knowledge that you, too, can be a bitch.
My favorite Quote :
As a mother and grandmother, I think "lioness." You come near the cubs, You're Dead!
--Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the House of Representatives, on Mark Foley, a congressman accused of writing inappropriate e-mails to White House pages..

(3,581 posts)As for myself, I've never considered it an insult. Some of my best friends have called me "bitch" to my face, intending it as a term of endearment, and I've taken it as such.
I love your username! Every time I see it I think "damn! I love that!!!"

(2,529 posts)The word can be a great insult, a great compliment, or, as in this instance, a comedic vehicle. I know when a sexist jerk is using it as a bludgeon and when my girlfriends are high fiving me for being one.

(1 post)Yes, context is everything. It can make an incident funny or tragic.

(5,477 posts)Did you miss the sarc tag, or did you miss the fact that no word, however ugly, was ever off limits for FZ?
Just saying...being tender about the word "bitch" seems kind of in conflict with having any respect for someone like FZ who would say exactly what he was thinking about anyone no matter how ugly.

(21,925 posts)is it possible that he suffers from brain damage? There are neurological disorders that might explain his unusual and seemingly unprovoked fits of crying such as pseudobulbar affect (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pseudobulbar_affect). Any illnesses aside, however, this is a pretty funny post.

Not a diagnosis here...just how it hits me.

(9,933 posts)I think my mom has that. She's been very depressed several times during her life and really insulates herself from others too. Strange
I always thought it might be the booze that makes him cry on command. I'm convinced if someone brought a kitten or puppy onto the house floor the man would start crying. God help the person who sits in front of him in a movie theater while showing any chick flick.
