Real Time host Bill Maher hammered Republicans on Friday for continuing to spread long-defunct talking points like they were characters in a horror movie, dubbing them zombie lies for their refusal to die.
Remember fracking doesnt cause earthquakes? Zombie lie, so stop saying it, Maher said. Voter fraud? We studied it. Its not an actual problem. Stop zombie-lying about it. Their entire economic philosophy cut taxes for the rich and it trickles down is a zombie lie. And all these zombie lies are stll out there, roaming the countryside, neither alive nor dead like Dick Cheney. Hungry for brains like Dick Cheney.
Cheney, Maher said, is not only out there telling lies about Iraq in his latest return from the dead, hes using the same ones he did before the U.S. invaded the country more than a decade ago. But while Cheney and other conservatives have been called out over their latest statements, there has been less scrutiny on Republican allegations surrounding the Affordable Care Act.
They said Obamacare would use death panels. It doesnt, he said. They said it was a government takeover, and the insurance industry is making record profits. They said it covered illegals. It doesnt. They said it was a job killer. It hasnt been. They said there were elves who baked cookies in trees.

If clowns aren't your thing, it might be a good idea to steer clear of the National Mall at the end of July. The Koch-backed group Generation Opportunity has just announced that they will be putting together quite the spectacle to try to convince young Americans that they should not be signing up for Obamacare.
Dubbed the "Creepy Carenival," the July 23rd event promises "to expose Obamacare for the freak show that it really is." The invite explains, "it's no secret that Obamacare hasn't lived up to the hype: All across the country premiums have spiked, millions have lost their insurance and their doctors, and, what's worse, we're continually being sold a bundle of lies about how great Obamacare has been for our generation!"
The event will consist of tightrope walkers, aerialists, jugglers, magicians and a "creepy hospital..."

That zombie lie-fest will get good media coverage, no doubt. As if their well-paid stunt is the same as Americans coming to petition and unite for changes in an unjust status quo that the Koch brothers pay to maintain...
Don't know if Maher accepts suggestions or information on such upcoming events. But this rally should be ridiculed by him or others.
The taxpayers (not the Koch or their ilk) will foot the bill for the Koch mob spewing their lies.

(753 posts)He said something about how the Hobby Lobby decision was protecting religion through some act passed in the 80s or 90s. Then I think it was Bill what if it was a Muslim company doing the same... Basically it came down to the false pretense of freedom of religion, but in actuality it means the protection of only Christianity.
