do you see why it is violent?
because you are dismissing any differing views from the rest of mankind.
when you are adamant about any view, you are denying the possibility of a different view.
so when a man who is seeking to understand a view qualifies his confidence to something less than 100%, he is concerned with the total understanding of mankind.

Nevertheless, a child starving in Nigeria is as much an affront to humanity as a child starving in Appalachia.
