Sexism; Misogyny; feminists,

the term "bitch"...Being a woman who has spent a lifetime being strong enough to make men and women who expect women to be submissive and play side-kick, rather than first string hero or villain uncomfortable, I've followed the recent conversations here with interest, even though I haven't had much to say.

And what I do have to say, frankly, is often contradictory. Much like the rest of me.

So, instead of a long, painful examination of what I really think, I thought I'd share this song, which is what keeps playing in my mind when I browse through all those threads. I had the pleasure of seeing these women live a dozen years or so ago. No, I am not an advocate of the word "bitch," except when referring to dogs, which, of course, is a word often used to demean women as well. Still, I always felt they were singing for me, lol, and I love what they chose to name themselves.
