The War on Caterpillars

Idiot Alert: RNC Chair Reince Priebus Says War on Women Is as Made Up as a "War on Caterpillars"
Republican National Convention Chairman Reince Priebus has made a remark that makes me really question whether the GOP knows why it is losing favor with women voters. Via Bloomberg, which will air the Priebus interview on Bloomberg TV this weekend:

“If the Democrats said we had a war on caterpillars and every mainstream media outlet talked about the fact that Republicans have a war on caterpillars, then we’d have problems with caterpillars,” Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said in an interview on Bloomberg Television’s “Political Capital with Al Hunt” airing this weekend. “It’s a fiction.”

Comparing women to caterpillars -- that is... a strategy for dealing with a well-documented women voter problem:

“The jury of women across America have ruled that the Republicans have been unbelievably extreme and out of touch and hyper-focused on cultural issues,” [DNC Chair Debbie] Wasserman Schultz said on “Political Capital.” That’s reflected in polling showing President Barack Obama beating former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney or other Republican presidential contenders by 18 points, she said. That gender gap showed up in a survey of swing states published April 2 by USA Today/Gallup.

be considered an analogy.

However, caterpillars don't vote. And I'm not aware of any GOP proposals that specifically target caterpillars.

4. Let's just hope this is remembered in November. Romney's camp has already started...

backpedaling telling us that we won't know his true feelings about womens rights and a few other things until he and the people he represents get the receipt for the nomination.
Given the help of Karl Rove and an endless supply of cash I have this fear.
By November we will all be thankful that Romney is a 'benevolent' member of the ruling class.
And 'yes my lady friends' Romney IS the champion that will save women from the evil Obama.

Theodore Sturgeon wrote about what happens when an alien intelligence inhabits a caterpillar on a remote island construction site. Heh heh heh. A PDF.
