Income and Happiness

First, some disclaimers- yes, happiness depends on a lot of stuff like friends, kids, goals, etc. These two , however, tries to relate how INCOME increases DOES NOT make you necessarily happier. (whatever that is - for me it's the cat not throwing up on the bed every day and covering his crap up).
Tries to show at what income level you would find yourself NOT as happy - you'll just have some extra income. Of course, extra money translates into a lot of things such as travel, food extras, freedom from debt, etc.

Seems to show that those states where low incomes are generally accepted, have a low thresehold for income goals.

I'd be happier if I left CA for NM, though. Some day. It's not even a forseeable goal at this point.

The $65,000 in Mississippi is actually more than the $91,000 in Oregon if you consider the costs in Oregon. So basically, it appears people are happier if they have a very comfortable living wherever they live.
