Update at 1:04 p.m.: Snohomish County Sheriff Ty Trenary has confirmed searchers have likely found the body of Molly Kristine “Kris” Regelbrugge at the site of the Oso mudslide. He said her body will be recovered sometime today.

Her remains were found about 100 yards from where the body of her husband was recovered, the sheriff said.

Trenary made the announcement at a news conference in Everett. He said he was “humbled and incredibly honored” to make the announcement on the four-month anniversary of the March 22 slide that killed 43.

The body was located at approximately 8 this morning on the west side of the slide site, state Highway 530. Personal items believed to belong to the Regelbrugge family had been previously located in the area. While the Snohomish Coutny Medical Examiner’s Office still has to confirm the identity, Trenary said he was confident the remains are those of Regelbrugge.....
