Bachmann says she may make another presidential bidby Donovan Slack, USA Today

"SNIP..........................
Rep. Michele Bachmann says she is considering a run for president in 2016.
The Minnesota Republican told Real Clear Politics on Tuesday that she learned a great deal from her failed bid in 2012 and will "certainly" draw upon those lessons if she runs again.
"Like with anything else, practice makes perfect," she said. "And I think if a person has gone through the process -- for instance, I had gone through 15 presidential debates -- it's easy to see a person's improvement going through that."
She also suggested her fundraising talents could prove to be an asset. Bachmann has been a Tea Party favorite and virtual fundraising juggernaut, drawing millions in individual contributions from across the country. She told Real Clear Politics that she is "one of the top -- if not the top -- fundraisers in the history of the United States Congress."

(9,688 posts)Rather, when the opposition sets the bar so low.
It's disgraceful that Michele Bachmann has the voice (empowered by voters!) that she has.
Does the USA want to bury itself in wingnut stupidity, just for the entertainment value? There're consequences that come along with that, the most destructive consequence being that well-reasoned discussions about serious issues are smothered and die.
To be sure, when the bar is that low and one is happy that it's that low, then all one has to do is slide into home base on the muck.

As much as I have enjoyed seeing the GOP make fools of themselves and jeopardize their electoral relevance flirting with all of these far-right nuts, it simultaneously kind of makes their extreme agenda come off as "mainstream" and moves the entire debate rightward. As their ideas appear more mainstream, things that were once considered common sense in the past (like minimum wages keeping up with worker productivity) get portrayed as "far-left".

(9,760 posts)of the utmost importance and the Dems desperately need to counter that.
The only upside is that it's comedy gold for Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, and although I used to find that kind of comedy hilarious and look forward to the next weeks batch, I'm starting to find it repulsive. Self-indulgent and cowardly, when in fact we need voices who explain that something is wrong when it is so very wrong, and explain that there's nothing funny about it.
I guess I'm a wet blanket. No fun at parties.

Who's more foolish, Bachmann or her donors who should know better?
2) Like a chicken with its head cut off:
Her statements are over the place.
3) Loose Cannon:
If she goes full birther/anti-vaxx/dominionist, she will be an anchor on the GOP slate, sinking other candidates
4) Not Playing With a Full Deck:
Well this one is pretty obvious.

(5,842 posts)Here's the first test to see just how serious the RNC is about killing off any clown-car candidates before they can suck all the oxygen out of room.
You figure there's got to be an bank account set up somewhere whose sole function is to supply pay-off money to "candidates" like Bachmann in the hopes that they'll go away sooner than later.

(39,961 posts)one of those where you ate something you shouldn't have and it invaded your dream.
My cousin, who is extremely liberal and I love him to death, was driving and Michelle Bachmann got into the backseat with me and she was ranting. He got a new SUV and it's probably what prompted it, but she and I got into an argument over ... well, everything. My cousin nearly wrecked the truck in this dream, because he was laughing at her being a lunatic.
Weird dream. I wish I could remember the details of what she was ranting about, but it had something to do with corn, Sarah Palin, and abortion.
OH SHIT. I already made a post about this. Now I remember, and it was a crossword puzzle with corn, abortion and Sarah Palin involved. Holy crap.
